Reiner Lemoine Institute is an independent non-profit research institution that contributes to a transformation towards a sustainable energy supply based on 100 % renewable energy. Our three research fields are Transformation of Energy Systems, Mobility with Renewable Energy, and Off-Grid Systems. We conduct applied research to scientifically support the long-term transition of the energy supply system towards renewable energy.
We are looking for a Student Assistant (f/m/d) to work on the subject
within the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems.
Reference Number: OffGrid_110_231024
The “Green hydrogen for 100% renewable energy islands in Southeast Asia” (Green-H2Islands) project will investigate how green hydrogen technology can be integrated as seasonal storage in island mini-grids to achieve 100% renewable energy supply. Green hydrogen technology will be installed at one mini-grid site in Thailand and its operation will be closely monitored and data collected. Based on the results of the project, a market study will be developed. In addition, a dimensioning tool to model island energy systems including green hydrogen technology will be developed to support further project development and results of case studies will feed into the study.
In addition to the implementation of the hydrogen technology, capacity building activities (information events, stakeholder workshops and training) will be carried out.
The student assistant will support the project team in all project activities and, depending on the student's specific skills and interests, will have the potential to delve deeper into one of the activities.
